Word Verification
So I've been getting a lot of Blog-Spam. Yuck. So now, when you want to leave a comment, you'll have to do a 'word verification'. Basically, there will be a graphic image of some text and you have to type what you see into a little box in the Comments pop-up window. Spamming software can't usually recognize the text in these graphic images...so we'll keep the Little Rascals from leaving their stupid spammy comments and ads on my blog!
Monsoon is a relative term.
Well, it's toward the end of Monsoon Season here. That means many afternoons we've gotten about 5-10 minutes of Sprinkle in the afternoon. You have to live in a desert for people to call THAT a Monsoon! But, being from the Northwest, I appreciate grey skies and cheery little rain clouds whenever I can get them. Whenever.
I like to catch the rain spouting down off our roof and use it on my flowers or compost pile.
I have to time my hanging of the laundry to miss the Monsoon each afternoon. The relative humidity is so low here that sometimes it's almost not worth worrying about clothes on the line during the Sprinkle!
Grey skies give me an excuse to make more coffee (known as Liquid Sunshine to us Northwesterners).

The World's Shortest Personality Test
I took this and think it actually worked! Here's my 'World's Shortest Personality Test' Profile. Try it.
![]() You are dependable, popular, and observant. Deep and thoughtful, you are prone to moodiness. In fact, your emotions tend to influence everything you do. You are unique, creative, and expressive. You don't mind waving your freak flag every once and a while. And lucky for you, most people find your weird ways charming! |

My Dad Needs....
...his own blog.
Yah, blogging is RIGHT up Dad's alley. I mean, he writes stuff ALL the time and LOVES to have other people read it. But he's not SO techno-savvy. He looses files ALL the time. We'll get these emails, "Hey, remember that story I sent you over email about 2 and a half years ago? Do you still have it? I don't know where it WENT!"
Recently he was telling me about his 'i' key not working on the keyboard; he thought the best way to fix it would be to take the laptop out to THE STUMP.
[For those of you who don't know about my family, THE STUMP is where my dad puts appliances so that he can use them for target practice!]
But, for all his quirks, Dad is a great guy. He's funny, creative, and REALLY into shooting things. Especially bowling pins. THAT is another story.
Here's Dear Old Dad next to one of his deco-art projects. That's a Bald Eagle capturing a Salmon. The animals are made out of old bowling pins. The actual artistic genre is called "Pin-art".
