Can I say 3 words? I LOVE TURBOTAX.
Can I say another 4 words? OUR TAXES ARE DONE.
I knew it was weighing on me, but it's really surprising how free I feel now that our taxes are DONE and ON THEIR WAY to the guv'mt. Who owes us, by the way.
Now that we're using Turbotax, I am never going back...to PAPER OR HR Block. Paper: Because it takes too long and I always feel sure that I've missed something. HR BLOCK: Because I was seriously UNCONVINCED that the chick who did our taxes knew what she was doing. She just did not inspire confidence in me. That's bad. Plus, I think I found a mistake on our last year's forms!
Anyway, now on to the other items on THE MOTHER OF ALL TO DO LISTS. When we get a new scanner, I will scan it in so you can see, first hand, what kind of to do list I keep mulling around in my head. No wonder I'm perpetually stressed out.
P.S. 18 days left until YOUR taxes are due!

You know you're a new mom when...
So this morning I was standing in my bedroom and I said, out loud to myself, "I feel SO good!" What, preytell, had happened to make me feel good enough to speak to myself out loud? And to say those words?
I had time for a shower AND to do my hair! All on the same day! All without Bubby crying in the background because he wants to get up and play!
How did this happen? Bubby slept late! I don't know why he did, but thank you, Jesus, for the treat.
It's hard being a new mom. You'd think that with a kiddo still (usually) taking 2 naps, that I'd be able to sneak in things like a shower, or putting on makeup, etc.

Precipitation!
Hey there. Well, it's true. We do get 'some' precipitation here in NM. I've got proof...this undoctored picture from a couple of days ago. But let me tell you, it took a LONG time for this snow to stick and build up. I guess that's what happens when even the snow is dry, dry, dry. I think it's weird that something made out of water (snow) can be described as dry. But it was.

Makin' Shelves with Marmee
My mom has always wanted to do How-To- Build-It shows. Sort of a Female German take on Tool Time or something. You know, how to build shelves, how to cut your counter in half (spontaneously) and rearrange your entire kitchen whilst also smashing your daughter's finger, how to rip out 1000 square feet of smelling-like-cat-pee carpet in the house you just bought, how to fill in a hole in a brick wall without your husband finding out ahead of time, stuff like that. Well, here we are painting some inset shelves for the end of my hallway. They turned out SWEET! Of course, I ended up painting the hallway, too, in order to set off the shelves. I'll have to take a picture of the finished product next.I got good tips on sinking nails, filling in holes, caulking edges, and using up as many random screws as you can find in your tool chest lest you have to make yet ANOTHER trip to Lowe's!!
