Boston Tea Party

Colonists dressed as Mohawks / having tea

Taxation without representation?!

Did we heave-ho ALL the crates?!
Today one of the moms from our Classical Conversations group planned a Boston Tea Party event. Our history sentence this week was about the Boston Tea Party and so this was a great way to round out the week. The wind whipping toward the Sandias helped us to imagine being on the shore of Boston Harbor, looking across the Pacific, contemplating far-away England and King George.

September Art Project / day nine

Just a quick watercolor in honor of the history sentence my kids are memorizing in Classical Conversations this week.

This is Day Nine of my September Art Project and I am slowly but surely running out of ideas of what to draw or paint. However, I persevere. Just like those colonists long ago.

Make sure you check out Carlye's work. She encouraged me to join her in 30 projects in 30 days.

That's pretty daunting considering how much time I don't think I have. So all my projects are small - 4" by 4" or so.

Let me know if you're joining us. I'd love to see what you create!

Liberty Kids!

I was so excited to see this was on sale on Amazon. Not sure how long it will last, but it's only $5 right now. This is going to tie in perfectly with our US HISTORY emphasis this year in Classical Conversations, Cycle 3. NOT that I EVER let my children watch the TELEVISION.
