Flying Aardvarks Victorious!
Yah, we WON last night. Volleyballs flying all OVER the place. It was awesome. I had this one sweet move - I was playing back row and this serve came over, so fast. It was coming straight for my chest...and since I'm tall, that means it would be out, if only I got out of the way fast enough.
So I pulled a Keanu move, like from the Matrix, when he's dodging bullets. You know the move I mean? So, the ball missed me and bounced out. One more point for the Fl-Aardvarks! Whoot whoot!

Monster Tales
I was looking through an old box and found this story that I (or my little brother) wrote sometime in the distant past. Don't ASK me how long I've been toting this box around with me. HEY! I told you not to ask. ALL RIGHT ALREADY! Well, it's got stuff in it from highschool, and college, and before either of those! Anyway, here's the story. I think it's got some funny parts, for sure. I never finished it. Or maybe my little brother never finished it. Anyway, enjoy.
CLYDE
Clyde wasn't very old. But he was ugly and he was growing uglier every day. He lived in a forest with his mother and his father.
Father Monster was a big, big monster. He was very ugly, which was good. Mother Monster was even uglier, which was better. (Monsters make fun of pretty monsters.) All in all, Clyde and his mother and his father were lovely monsters - as monsters go.
All day Clyde played in the forest doing monster things, like making big holes and bumping into things.
At night Clyde should have gone to his cave to sleep. But he would not go to his cave.
"Why," asked his mother, "why won't you go to your cave?"
"Because I'm scared of the dark," said Clyde.
"Scared?" asked his father. "What are you scared of?"

MAN! This story seriously cracks me up.

Flying Aardvarks
So Hubby and I are playing on a recreational (indoor) volleyball league these days. Our team, the Flying Aardvarks, won last Thursday against a long-standing rival. We've got another game tonigt. Things I'm looking forward to:
1) Getting some exercise of the Volleyball Variety.
2) Getting some serves OVER and IN.
3) Winning. I like to win.
Phew...the rules are SO different from back in the day when I played in highschool. Here are some differences:
1) We play to 25, not just 15. But you still have to win by 2 points.
2) It's okay if serves touch the net, as long as they are over and in, they're good.
3) You can hit the ball with any part of your body! (One guy on our team kicked the ball twice last week and it was totally fine.)
4) There's a point scored on every play, regardless of which team served it.

Home!
I'm at home in the PNW visiting my family. It's been really fun to hang out with family and friends. Little EJ has gotten to see my friends Tina and Sherri, and also his Auntie Martina and Uncle Ken and cousins Mikki and Zander. One day EJ FILLED up his diaper and his cousin Zander ran out of the house yelling, "EJ IS REEKING UP THE WHOLE HOUSE!" It was funny. Mikki just stood nearby and said, "EEEeeewww. Groooooossss."
